Mercuri Tanners was founded in the year 2000 by Mr M.Muralidharan and V.Kannan.

 

Both of them are qualified leather technicians with a Diploma in Leather Technology, from Institute of Leather Technology, Tharamani, Chennai 113, passed out in the year 1995.

 

M .Muralidharan, started as a dye house technician specializing in wet end operations and V. Kannan, as a finishing technician specializing in various types of finishes.

 

During the initial years they were job workers for various types of sheep garment leathers. They were the fore runners in developing fashionable articles like, Sheep Wrambler, Sheep Latigo, Sheep Deer Nappa, Goat Crunch and all types of crumbled, crinkled and tumbled articles.

 

In the later years as part of operational diversification they started involving themselves in trading wet blue from Middle Eastern origin.

 

As the years passed, Mercuri tanners became one of the few suppliers who could offer substantial quantities of wet blue from Middle Eastern origin.

 

Further they are in the expansion of operations in to the garment manufacturing also.
